A new casino will the focal point of a £100 million plan to redevelop a derelict waterside mill into a 23-storey tower block complex.
The scheme earmarked for the 3-acre Clarence Mill site on the east bank of the Humber River next to Hull’s Drypool Bridge has been given the go-ahead by city planners.
Damage
Swanky new apartments, 155 student flats, a 4-star hotel and restaurants also feature in the new development spearheaded by the Manor Property group.
The Clarence Flour Mill was re-built in 1952 to replace a Victorian building destroyed in Second World War bombing raids on Hull city centre.
Although hailed as one of the best-preserved examples of post-war mill design, it will be demolished in the redevelopment plan.
